Establishment of APIS ACS Chemistry Club!

As the new school semester is slowly “unraveling” itself, clubs have opened again! The school was buzzing with excitement about the announcement of clubs.

As the science geek I am myself, I decided to request a proposal to host a new club, with the confirmation of an official chemistry organization that officially supports high school clubs under an application to the ACS organization, which was approved.

Although ACS Chem is more directed towards advanced chemistry experimenting and more “professionalized”, I wanted to direct my club towards the more important factor of chemistry –> the simple, yet strongest passion of the students towards experimenting.

I have observed students and peers at our school, and I realized that most of the students really struggled with liking chemistry, as it is a rigorous subject and requires lots of attention. Therefore, I wanted to enhance their perception of chemistry by approaching science in a fun and easy way –> interesting and simple experiments!

Fortunately, many actually approved of this idea, and I was able to create a successful club within our school: APIS ACS Chem Club! We decided to post our updates with a Youtube Channel, ACS Chem.

Before starting off any serious experiments, we thought it would be most suitable to post our lab safety video to help warn ourselves and also raise awareness about these rules.

Please subscribe, like and comment! We will always be posing our club content here!
