(Sidenote: I joined class at the wrong time AGAIN today and today was a hectic day so I literally had to borrow my mother’s phone, turn on hotspot in the elevator and join my first class, which unfortunately was seminar (THE TIMING)) YEs. So it was hectic, and I rushed home until I realized the timezone was in EDT, so when it was 8:00AM EDT, I had confused that with KST, which is 11 hours later, so I was supposed to join at 9PM KST AHAHAHHA okay back to what I was saying)
Okay, so throughout YYGS, we have this class everyday called “Family Time”, which is kind of like advisory. We have our own instructor, and classmates that we see everyday.
Week 1 was more serious, where we dove into discussions and debates about diversity (YYGS’S main goals), self identity, COVID-19’s effect on us as students, and what it means to be a global scholar.
HOWEVER, as we met today again, a new day, a new week (sadly, our last :*(), we actually just spent today on fun games!
We first played like “The spotlight is on anyone who _____”, and it’s kind of like “never have I ever” but on Zoom. So, when one person says any prompt, those who agree/experienced that certain thing would turn their cameras on, and the last person would be “It”, who would then, have to ask the same question , “The spotlight is on anyone who_____”.
We had so many funny prompts, such as “Pineapple on Pizza is overrated”, “Have you ever seen/worn toe socks”, “the pronunciation of NOOtella vs. NUH-Tella”, “Football” (referring to the recent Euromatch. AHHAHA THE FOOTBALL DEBATE ENDED UP IN FLAMES AS PEOPLE WERE FIGHTING ABOUT THE CORRECT WORD FOR SOCCER (IN British English, IT’s “football”, and when this one Dubai kid, Ermias, said the word “soccer”, it ENRAGED MAX, the British kid, AHAHAHHA)
Anyways, after that, our instructor had been crashing midway and she finally returned! So when she did, we played Fake Artists in New York, which is like a mix of Pictionary and Mafia.
Everyone is given the same thing to draw (we drew bears) and the fake artist has to correctly guess that the prompt word was. The main objective for the rest (not the fake artist) is to draw poorly so that the fake artist wouldn’t be able to identify what the prompt word was.
The FUNNY THiNG IS that we all drew on Zoom’s annotation feature, which meant trackpad drawings HAHAHAHA

KIDS WERE ACCUSING EACH OTHER and everyone was asking me whether my thing would build a dam at a river, be tame, live on the beach, and I was like 😭NOOO
BUT THE FUNNY THING IS I just loved how Sara drew a Minecraft Pig, how Alba’s drawing looked like some rabbit, Emily’s being just a brown some kind of organism with four legs (nobody knew what it was), and Sanjana’s looking like some distorted Peppa Pig.
EVERYONE ACCUSED EACH OTHER SO BAD and eventually everyone blamed Sara for being the fake artist.
BUT DUN DUN DUN!!!!! THE fake artist was actually Ana, who remained silent the entire time, probably she was laughing hysterically at us accusing each other AHAHHAAH WHEN WE WERE ALL INNOCENT akjd f;lajsd;flaksd
It was hilarious today and I COULD NOT STOP LAUGHING
AH I love my family group, and I cannot wait for the upcoming 4 more days of YYGS!
