KSCY: Korea Scholars’ Conference for Youth Competition (2021. 07. 19 ~ 30)

Okay.. This may sound a bit erratic and implausible but I actually attempted a submission into this quite *major* research competition held in South Korea, hosted by one of the top universities here: Yeonsei University.

KSCY, an abbreviation for Korea Scholars’ Conference for Youth Competition, is an annual event that hitherto the COVID-19 pandemic, was held offline (kind of like a summer camp?) where adolescent researchers present their research papers or research plans. However, as the offline camps have been canceled, the event was hosted online as an online conference.

I honestly knew I wouldn’t get into the spot because KSCY is quite famous for being a strongly recommended EC for Korean students, especially those in the Science/Math field at Science-Specialized High Schools. And I knew that I, for sure, was not as smart as them, nor was I surrounded by professors or any professionals as those students were. What’s worse was that because of the current pandemic situations, as offline volunteering and competitions are being cancelled, online camps/competitions like these are overflowing of applicants.

However, possible because of the lingering fierce motivation inside of me from YYGS, even after it ended, I decided to submit my CRISPR paper that I had finished as a school project, and presented it in front of the whole school months ago.

I thought it would be fascinating if I could share it with you all here, and I hope you enjoy!
