Second day of summer camp already! The students learned about the scientific method today and began preparing their science notebooks. I was quite surprised almost none of them had learned about the Scientific Method, despite the majority of the class being comprised of upper Elementary students.

It’s still hard for me to charismatically lead the group and guide the students, but I think I’m gradually learning to know how to lead the group effectively and also entertainingly so the students feel more engaged. However, I began to notice drops in enthusiastic eyes amongst the class as the lesson progressed on, so I immediately switched to Scientific Method Jeopardy, and dang, the kids sure do love playing games. Some of them got too competitive to the point they started panicking when their turn to speak was stolen by opponents in the other teams.
I introduced them that we would be making edible water bottles for tomorrow’s experiment, and I’ve never seen kids so excited for such a thing. I’ve never tried making Ooho before, but I’m looking forward to it! (previous experience as a nerd myself, who searched random, quirky science experiment videos on Youtube back in ES).
