A few weeks ago, ACS members were fortunate enough to host their own booth for the all-school carnival held in years post-COVID. Through weeks of busy brainstorming with the team, our club eventually came to the consensus to host an interactive DIY slime booth.
Selecting the price range for the slime activities was one of the harder processes of preparation. Considering the broad audience range from young kindergarten students to high school students and even teachers/parents, it was difficult to choose a reasonable price for people to make their slime.

We eventually decided to sell a on-the-spot slime activity for 2 tickets and a DIY slime kit for people to take home for 4 tickets with an extra ticket for additional decorations. This price was chosen with the consideration for the needed funding for our future experiments and club events. However, little did we know that this would cause problems with supply and demand during the carnival.
Thankfully, the slime booth was a success! Kids, high school students, and even the STEAM teacher visited our booth to make slime. Here are some photos of our carnival:
It was a success! We earned a total of 79,000₩ for our club funding, which fortunately is much more than what we had initially expected!
While watching members rotate their turns (as they had signed up weeks prior to the carnival), I was extremely proud how each member responsibly and actively ran the booth despite being busy and occupied with other club commitments. I’m incredibly thankful and fortunate to have this wonderful team of scientists this year and I look forward to our next club activity — faculty kid session with lava lamps!!
